Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government released the results of the 2025 annual comprehensive assessment for high-quality development, and NJUPT was rated Top Tier among provincial universities in the 2025 assessment. This also marks the sixth consecutive year since 2020 that the university has achieved this honor.
In 2025, guided by President Xi Jinping’s important expositions on education, the whole university thoroughly implemented the decisions and arrangements of the provincial Party committee and government, adhered to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and advanced the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent cultivation. Remarkable achievements were made in strengthening Party self-governance in an all-round way and enhancing connotative development. The university earnestly carried out in-depth study and education on implementing the spirit of the eight-point decision on improving Party and government conduct, and solidly advanced the political tasks of rectification related to inspections, audits and undergraduate education evaluation. Four projects were selected into the Ministry of Education’s Comprehensive Reform and High-Quality Construction Program for Improving the Quality of Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities. Six disciplines rank among the top 1% of ESI global rankings, and two disciplines are among the top 1‰. NJUPT took the lead in establishing the State Key Laboratory of Flexible Electronics and participated in co-building the State Key Laboratory of Tibetan Intelligent Processing. It has jointly established three provincial-level “Double High-Level Collaboration” pilot platforms with Nanjing Jiangning Development Zone, Nantong North High-Tech Zone and Nanjing Gulou High-Tech Zone. The university won one major and nine key reserved projects for Jiangsu Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards, and claimed its first National Teaching Material Construction Award. Students earned four gold medals and three silver medals in the National College Students’ Innovation Competition, and the university won the “Winning Cup” again in the “Challenge Cup” Competition. NJUPT also obtained approval to establish the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications Cyprus Europe College, a Chinese-foreign cooperative education institution under the Ministry of Education.
The year 2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, NJUPT will thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and its plenary sessions, earnestly follow the plans of the Fourth Plenary Session, and fully act on General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches on Jiangsu’s work, especially his important remarks when attending the Jiangsu delegation’s deliberation at the NPC session. The university will earnestly fulfill its primary responsibility for Party governance and school operation, anchor the goal of building a world-class university with distinctive characteristics in the field of electronic information, study new situations, solve new problems, and strive for progress with determination and courage. NJUPT will contribute greater wisdom and strength to writing a new chapter in the modernization of a strong, prosperous, high-quality, beautiful and high-level new Jiangsu.
