From December 11 to 14, the finals of the 8th SFLEP Cup National College Students' Intercultural Competence Contest were held in Shanghai. A team of NJUPT international students — including Russian student Iudina Ekaterina, South Korean student Kim Hojung, and Indonesian student Bong Alicia — won the First Prize in the International Students Group.
This year’s contest drew over 3,000 students from more than 1,000 universities across 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. A total of 76 teams from the Chinese Students Group and 25 teams from the International Students Group advanced to the national finals, making it the largest and highest-level one in the history.
NJUPT has been committed to fostering platforms for exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and international students, focusing on cultivating young talents who integrate knowledge and practice, and bridge Chinese and foreign cultures. Under the guidance of teachers Liu Huahua, Wang Jingxiong, and Yang Li from the School of Foreign Languages, the international student team presented a cross-cultural communication case titled The Beauty of Integration. Through sessions including case analysis, quote interpretation, knowledge quizzes, situational descriptions, and storytelling about China, the team won the top national prize, demonstrating its achievements in international talent cultivation and cross-cultural education.
