NJUPT Recruits a Visiting Professor from Hosei University of Japan

On the afternoon of 9th September, 2019, a ceremony was held to mark that Professor Ma Jianhua was officially appointed as a visiting professor of the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Professor Wang Lianhui, vice president of NJUPT, attended the ceremonious event and issued a letter of appointment.

After the ceremony, Professor Ma Jianhua lectured students and teachers from the School of Modern Posts on an academic report entitled “Towards Smart World with Ubiquitous Intelligence”. In the lecture, he elaborated on his keen and innovative perspectives on “Smart World” together with resulting missions and challenges which include the establishment of a smart emotion identification system based on wearable equipment and an intelligent inspection system for vegetation, to name a few.


Personal Profile of Professor Ma Jianhua

Professor Ma Jianhua has devoted fifteen years, if not more, to teaching and scientific research in the National University of Defense Technology,the Xidian University and the University of Aizu in a succession. He has been a member of the faculty at Hosei University, Japan. He has published over 200 academic papers and edited more than fifteen books and special issues. Furthermore, he is reputed as one of founding fathers of the International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing (UIC), on Autonomic and Trusted Computing (ATC), on Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom), on Internet of Things (iThings) and Cyber Science and Technology Congress (CyberSciTech) under IEEE. He is also a champion of forming a technical committee under the Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMCS) and a penal specialized in ubiquitous intelligence and computing under the Computational Intelligence Society (CIS).
