Li Ziquan: Vice President and Member of NJUPT Standing Committee of CPC and Secretary of NJUPT Committee for Discipline Inspection, PhD, Professor and PhD Supervisor


  Professor Li Ziquan is a member of CPC, born in Zitong, Sichuan Province in February, 1964. He is of Han ethnic group. In July 1985, Professor Li graduated from Gansu University of Technology (now Lanzhou University of Technology) with a bachelor's degree in engineering as a foundry major. In July 1988, he received a master’s degree from the Department of Foundry of Gansu University of Technology and a master’s degree in engineering from Beijing University of Science and Technology. In July 1998, Li graduated from the department of foundry of Southeast University with a Ph.D. degree in engineering. From September 1989 to February 1990, he furthered his study while working as a teaching assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University. From May to September, 2004, he acted as a visiting scholar in the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Department of University of Birmingham, UK.

  He started to work at Gansu University of Technology since August 1988 and serve as deputy director of the Graduate Office in 1993. In July 1998, he became a post-doctor majoring in acoustics in the Department of Electronics of Nanjing University. In March 2001, Li embarked on his work at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and became the director of the Department of Materials in October of the same year and then the vice president of the School of Materials in December 2003. After that, he held the post of deputy director of the Dean’s Office in June 2005 and its director in August 2006. In December 2009, Dr.Li was appointed Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Materials. In April 2010, he began to serve a temporary position as deputy head of the People's Government of Haian County of Jiangsu Province. In June 2012, Dr. Li became the secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing College of Chemical Technology and in April 2015, secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing Polytechnic Institute. It was in July 2017 that Li undertook his new duties as the vice president and member of the Standing Committee of CPC of NJUPT. In February, 2018, he began to serve as secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection of NJUPT. As regards his teaching career in NJUPT, Li started as a teaching assistant in 1990, and moved on later to become an instructor in 1992, an associate professor in 1994, a professor in 2002 and eventually a PhD supervisor in 2003.

  Currently serving as a member to the Metal Material Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education, Dr. Li has long been engaged in teaching of and research into new metal materials and thin film materials. He has presided over or participate in more than 10 research projects at provincial level or above, received 2 second class prizes and 3 third class prizes of ministerial and provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and published more than 170 academic papers, 40 and 90 of which are included respectively in SCI and EI. In addition, he has presided over 5 provincial educational research projects and won 3 first class prizes and 2 second class prizes in “Outstanding Achievements in Education” of Jiangsu Province. He is also responsible for Jiangsu Province’s first program of “Materials Science and Engineering” and the construction of “Engineering Materials” as a top-quality course. He also won an award presented by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Foundation for his outstanding contribution to talent training in the petroleum and chemical industry.
