Professor Wang Guoping, male, born of Han ethnicity in Yangzhong, Jiangsu Province, in November 1961, is Vice President of NJUPT, member of NJUPT standing Committee of CPC, Master degree holder of law, researcher and supervisor of master degree students. 

Mr. Wang got an associate degree in Chemistry from Nanjing Normal University in January 1981 and a bachelor degree in politics and education in November 1990 from Xuzhou Normal University. Then he took in-service postgraduate courses in management science and engineering at the international business school of Hohai University and obtained a master’s degree in law from the Nanjing Tech University after the on-the-job study for ideological and political education in the School of Law and Administration. In June 2009, Mr. Wang went to further his study at California State University—Fullerton in U.S., and from February to July 2012, he received training at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, funded by the program of university president fellowship for education overseas of Jiangsu Province.

From Jan 1981 to May 2001, Mr. Wang worked at Engineering College in Nanjing, serving successively as Youth League Branch Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Secretary of the College, Deputy Secretary of the department party branch, Deputy Head of Department of Engineering, and Director of the Office of the Party Committee. In February 2002, he began to work as Director of the Office of the Party Committee of Nanjing Tech University; in June 2008, he worked at Nanjing College of Population Program Management as Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection. Since October 2013, he has been working as the Secretary of Party Committee and Vice President of the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and was promoted to be deputy secretary of the Party Committee of NJUPT.  

Mr. Wang mainly engages in the management, research on party building and ideological and political education in colleges of higher education. He has hosted and participated in nearly 10 provincial and university-level research projects, published one academic monograph, and edited ten books of teaching materials. He has published over 40 papers in periodicals and journals at the provincial level, such as China Higher Education, China Higher Education Research, Jiangsu Higher Education, Study on Higher Engineering Education, Heilongjing Higher Education Research, Guangming Daily, The Academia, Education Exploration, Higher Architecture Education, and Value Projects.

He was awarded twice by CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee of Education and Workers the honorary title of “outstanding party affairs workers in colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province”, and the honorary title of “Jiangsu provincial pace-setter in the new Long March” by the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League.
