On July 16, Guo Yufeng, Party Secretary of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT), and Liu Qingshan, Vice President, were invited to Shanghai to attend the signing ceremony of the China-Kazakhstan University Strategic Cooperation Agreement. At the event, they signed cooperation agreements with Kazakh National University of Sports and Almaty University of Energy and Communications respectively. The two sides will carry out practical cooperation including joint training of undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty exchange visits, and the co-construction of joint laboratories focusing on electronic information, computer science, sports media and other fields.

On July 17, a delegation led by Kuangaliyeva Tursynzada, President of Kazakh National University of Sports, paid a visit to NJUPT. At the meeting, Hu Zongyu, Vice President of NJUPT, introduced the university’s educational development. She expressed the hope that both universities could leverage their respective disciplinary strengths, take joint laboratory construction as a bond, jointly explore the integrated development path of sports and digital media, and cultivate international interdisciplinary talents proficient in both digital technology and sports communication. Kuangaliyeva briefed the participants on the profile of Kazakh National University of Sports, and proposed in-depth practical cooperation in areas such as sports convergent media development, online sports event operation, and AI sports training. After the discussion, the Kazakh delegation visited the NJUPT Communication Museum and the 3D Display & Virtual Reality Laboratory of the School of Digital Media and Design Arts.

Closely following the educational initiatives under the Belt and Road Initiative, NJUPT will rely on dual platforms—the China-Central Asia Mechanism and the Jiangsu-Central Asia Industry-Education Integration Alliance—to continuously deepen regular scientific and educational exchanges with universities in Kazakhstan, and accelerate the implementation of relevant cooperation projects.
